Imagine yourself in the crystal blue waters of Santorini, Greece. 

This pattern slowly transforms from a light, airy weave at the top to a much denser pattern at the bottom. The entire pattern was constructed by hand using only straightedge and compass, then outlined in pen and colored with a single watercolor hue, varying only in intensity from top to bottom.

Created while staying on the island of Crete, the end result reminded me strongly of the views of sea and sky I had just seen at our previous stop on the world-renowned isle of Santorini.
